WE ARE A PROUDLY ROOTED IN NEW ENGLAND

We operate out of Connecticut and in a historic velvet mill! Your precious memories are digitized within our studio, by our trusted team, and not shipped out of the country or elsewhere to do so.

The historic story of the “Charter Oak” is that an unusually large white oak tree that fell in 1856, during a storm, on what the English colonists named “Wyllys Hyll”, in Hartford, Connecticut.

According to tradition, Connecticut’s Royal Charter of 1662 was hidden within the hollow of that tree to prevent its confiscation by the English governor-general!

The oak is also commemorated on the Connecticut State Quarter.

A FAMILY AFFAIR

Father-Daughter duo, Robert and Candice Webb, began Charter Oak Scanning in 2013. The idea sprung to life after they witnessed the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Sandy in 2012 where memories of family and friends were washed away and important medical and financial documents damaged.

Robert decided in that moment that he wanted to use his extensive background in document scanning and management to preserve people’s memories of family and friends held on mixed media. He then recruited his graphic designer daughter, Candice, to help build the full digitization company you see today!

Robert utilizes his 25 years of success in the scanning and document management industry. He has a strong passion for excellent customer service and lives for the smiles of customers. Candice believes it is all in the details, making sure our customers understand the process and possibilities throughout their project.
